Public-Private Partnering to Secure Cyberspace
This website is designed to promote the capabilities of DRA Enterprises, Inc., run by Andy Purdy, introduce exciting technologies that can benefit government and private organizations, and make known the capabilities and activities of partner organizations, Secure Anchor Consulting, EchelonOne, the Internet Law Group, and the International Cyber Center.
Through DRA, Andy Purdy specializes in consulting, business development, and government relations, and partners with other experts on special projects. He speaks frequently at conferences and before business groups in the United States and overseas, and is available to serve on boards of directors and advisory boards. Business development work involves technologies to help organizations manage large IT enterprises, manage and mitigate cyber/information security risk, protect sensitive data, and facilitate the use of surveillance video for alerting and investigations.
DRA partners in two major areas:
- to help organizations more effectively assess and mitigate cyber risk and improve enterprise IT configuration (Secure Anchor Consulting); and
- to provide Executive Security Intelligence to help organizations address the information security landscape that is changing radically and unpredictably (EchelonOne).
Cyber Crime: Andy Purdy is working in an alliance with the Internet Law Group to build partnerships between private companies and government to collect and share data about malicious cyber actors and those who enable them, and use civil process to shut them down and seize their assets.
International Cyber Strategy: Andy Purdy is working with Dr. Arun Sood of George Mason University to form an International Cyber Center (ICC) to promote a strategic approach to global cyber issues (often referred to internationally as ICT, information and communication technologies). Among the issues of interest to the ICC are:
- to help bring IT to the emerging world while enhancing security, protecting privacy, and minimizing the impact on the environment;
- to promote CSIRT capacity building in the developing world;
- to promote strategic collaboration among law enforcement, others in government, academia, and the private sector, to collect and share information about the most significant malicious actors and enablers and reduce the frequency, impact, and risk of their activity and the vulnerabilities they exploit; and to promote cyber security awareness; and
- to create an international cyber R&D conference series to promote information sharing and collaboration among government, academia, and private companies to better assess and mitigate the cyber risk to the global information infrastructure and address the long-term hard problems of cyberspace.

SPECIAL REPORT
Internet Domain Auction Threatens 285 U.S. TV Stations
Domain names using the call letters of 285 U.S. TV stations -- including major affiliates of ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX -- were auctioned to the public by GoDaddy.com July 19-23, 2008, according to an exclusive investigative report released by andypurdy.net one day before the auction series began.
Up for grabs were the call letters for 88 existing ABC stations, 78 CBS stations, 59 NBC stations (including a station that is no longer active), 56 FOX stations, 1 PBS station, 1 CW affiliate, 1 MyNet affiliate, and 1 low power station in Washington, DC.
Acting on our alert, a number of media giants swooped down on the auction to protect their callsign branding, including CBS Broadcasting, Allbritton Communications, Nexstar Broadcasting, LIN TV, and Hubbard Broadcasting. However, many of the remaining tv station domains were acquired by 2 private individuals.
